A retrospective of Victoria Beckham’s pop star-turned-fashion designer wardrobe will prove her sartorial prowess.
The former Spice Girl has lived a thousand fashion lives within her three decades in the industry, including (but not limited to) a Tom Ford-era Gucci mini dress supremacy during her Posh Spice persona, a micro-short and chunky hair highlight wielding WAG and, of course, the aesthetic she’s come to be synonymous with thanks to her eponymous label: modern suiting, sensual dressing and sky-high stilettos.
Now, the 49-year-old is seemingly entering her most experimental era of them all by quelling her attentiveness, (if you remember, Beckham once quipped on English breakfast television that she “just can’t concentrate in flats”) and sporting one of 2023’s most divisive footwear trends, the MSCHF Big Yellow Croc Boots.
A porous and high-octane variation of the art-troll collective’s Big Red Boot, Beckham rather uncharacteristically took to her Instagram story to showcase her Posh-inspired spin on the oversized and rather gaudy silhouette.
With Beckham currently in Miami with her Inter Miami CF co-owning husband, David Beckham, it could be understood that the thrill of hot Floridian nights is influencing the designer’s unexpected styling choices.
Earlier in the week, Beckham took to TikTok to share an impromptu video of herself belting out the Spice Girls’ “Say You’ll Be There” at a karaoke bar. It’s safe to say East Coast Posh is far more relaxed (and uninhibited) than when on European soil.
Still, seeing Beckham eschewing her razor-sharp heels for Paris Hilton-approved croc boots was something we never thought we’d live to see.
After all, this is the same woman who said she’d “rather die” than wear a pair of lilac Crocs Justin Bieber gifted her as part of his fashion label’s, Drew House, collaboration with the foam clog brand.
Posh is clearly up to mischief in Miami, and as she wrote on TikTok, with “more to come”.
