After months of teasing, we’re finally getting a glimpse of just what will be on offer in Valentino Beauty‘s upcoming makeup launch. The luxury Italian house announced its first foray into cosmetics several months ago, but we’re yet to see the products in question – until now, that is.

Valentino Beauty has finally offered some insight into its impending collection, which is set to debut in the US next month. From 50 velvety lipsticks with impressive colour pay-off to a foundation range with extensive shades, the collection is set to be an instant sell-out – if not just for the ultra luxurious packaging alone.

The new range will also feature buttery eyeshadow palettes and blush, with many also offering refillable packaging to encourage more sustainable consumption. There’s Rosso Valentino, the 50-shade-strong lipstick collection, and Very Valentino, the brand’s first semi-matte foundation. There’s also a highlighter – dubbed V-Lighter – which does double duty as skincare thanks to the formula being boosted with hydrating hyaluronic acid.

The entire range is designed to be multi-purpose, as evidenced by the Eye2Cheek powder, and many products also come with a handy applicator or brush. But the ultimate piece from the collection would have to be the super-special Go-Clutch, which riffs on an existing Valentino micro-bag that’s worn cross-body and can perfectly house a powder product of your choice.

The campaign for the collection was shot by none other than the maison’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, who lensed 16 models for the imagery. “Beauty is a complexity resolved through love. Beauty is democratic. I look at the identity of each individual, the uniqueness that encloses diversity and inclusivity,” he said in a statement of the upcoming Valentino Beauty launch.

“Beauty is about grace. Grace is something that you cannot describe, it is a perception,” he continued. “Beauty is something that gives me emotion. It is a connection. For Make up my vision is Rosso Valentino 22, on a morphing of 16 people.”

The bad news? In Australia, we’re not likely to see Valentino Beauty drop this side of 2022. So until then we’ll have to live vicariously through our international friends (or convince them to send some south). Stay tuned!
