1. Her Wardrobe
There is an abundance of dresses to rent from Her Wardrobe, but what makes them special if that they’re all Australian labels. As with most rental sites now, all prices include delivery and return costs, which makes the process relatively stress free. On top of that, Her Wardrobe also offers millinery (Viktoria Novak is included in its offering), as well as clutches and belts. At time of publish (early December, 2016) prices ranged from $99 per day for the Pasduchas Nicks Dress to $269 for the Thurley Asteroid Dress.
2. GLAM CORNER
Like Her Wardrobe, Glam Corner only offers garments and jewellery from Aussie designers. It also prides itself in having new pieces from its key labels as soon as they drop in store. With more than 500 dresses to choose from and with prices ranging from $39 for the Premonition Dynasty Midi Dress, up to $399 for an Alex Perry Vittoria Gown, you’re spoiled for choice.
While this site isn’t as ‘pretty’ as the two mentioned previously, Runway Collection makes up for it in its designer garment options. Its name says it all, with Valentino, Ellery and more dresses from big-name Fashion Week favourites. The most attractive part of the site is that dress hires start from just $19 for several items, including a Gary Bigeni Ressy Dress, with the most expensive being a Tadashi Shoji number for $149.
4. the birdcage stylist
What sets The Birdcage Stylist apart from other online hire boutiques is that it gives customers the chance to buy ex-rental dresses – albeit a small range at present. Another unique factor is that it has several crop tops and skirts available for hire along with the traditional style gowns. Prices for dress rental range from at $69 per day for the Lisa Brown Penelope Dress, up to $169 for an Alex Perry Belauh Dress.

Prices start from $69 for the Talulah Melrose Floral Midi Dress and range up to $90 for an Elle Zeitoune Dolton Gown.
8. something borrowed
This site gives you the option of entering your postcode to see what dresses are available on any certain date, so there’s none of that word we all loathe: unavailable. And if you’re skeptical about choosing something online from Something Borrowed, guess what? Good news for residents of Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide – Something Borrowed has boutiques in all of these cities. The site has been so successful that it’s created its own line of four self-titled dresses. Prices range from $99 for Something Beyond’s Lover Dress, to $299 for the Ael’kemi’s Rose Gold Plunge dress.
9. hiring wardrobe
With a penchant for Australian designers, Hiring Wardrobe offers the best threads by the most eminent designers our country has to offer, from Zimmermann to Dion Lee and beyond. A unique part of the site is that Hiring Wardrobe also acts as an agent for any designer clothes you might want to rent too. So if you have a last season Lover number that’s sitting in the back of your very full cupboard, set a price to Hiring Wardrobe customers to rent it, and there’s a little bit of money for your next shopping spree.
