Zendaya casually reminded the world of her status as Hollywood’s best-dressed actress over the weekend, stepping out in four different equally incredible looks in two days.
The actress, who attended the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday and the SAG Awards on Sunday, brought some much-needed excitement back to the red carpet on both occasions, proving outfits for awards shows can be chic, timeless and elegant while still being young, fun and fresh.
Though Zendaya’s boyfriend, Tom Holland, unfortunately, didn’t join her for either event to make their red carpet couple debut, the British actor was most definitely watching his girl slay. Generally tight-lipped publicly about their relationship, this time he didn’t seem to mind if the world knew about his adoration, either.
Taking to Instagram, the Spider-Man actor liked every single photo and video Zendaya shared of herself from the weekend, including one where a fan can be heard yelling “serving, serving, serving” as she poses on the carpet. He also liked all three posts her stylist Law Roach posted, too.
Furthermore, on a post Zendaya shared of her NAACP Image Awards Versace couture dress, Holland commented three heart-eye emojis — a rare form of PDA for the pair and a subtle confirmation that, despite being low-key, they are most definitely still dating.
In November 2021, following paparazzi images of them kissing in a car that confirmed their relationship to the public, Holland spoke with GQ about why they had been purposefully trying to hide their relationship.
“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world,” Holland said. “I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway. We sort of felt robbed of our privacy.”
He added that “I don’t think it’s about not being ready [to share our relationship]. It’s just that we didn’t want to.”
Zendaya also spoke in the piece, saying the public’s interest in their personal lives “was quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive. The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own… I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.”
