Like it or not, Y2K style is having a moment. From trucker hats to low-rise jeans, there’s no denying the aesthetic many of us spent our teenage years embracing has officially made a return. But beyond 2000s fashion, it seems Y2K beauty is also making a comeback. This time, we have Thylane Blondeau to thank (or hold a serious grudge against).

Attending the Kenzo Menswear Spring/Summer 2023 show at Paris Fashion Week over the weekend, Blondeau wore a hairstyle many of us know all too well. Yes, I’m talking about sl*t strands. The style, which usually features a ponytail or messy bun, along with two gelled strands framing the face was a go-to look for every noughties high schooler. Now, it’s back to haunt us all over again.

Blondeau, famously dubbed as the most beautiful girl in the world in 2007, matched the iconic hairstyle with a classically Y2K look, wearing matte lipstick, an over-sized denim jacket, printed Kenzo jeans, a white tank top, and Nike sneakers. The French 21-year-old has modelled for Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and L’Oréal.

The Paris Fashion Week show was also attended by Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, Jaden Smith, and Cruz Beckham—the four sitting together in the front row.
