With all the sartorial stimulation at the big fashion week shows, it’s easy to miss the important details, the fashion fine print. This season, a select few fashion celebrities seemed to tire of the peacocking that has seemed to reach fever pitch in recent times.
No more were they drowning themselves in lens-grabbing brights and dramatic, OTT silhouettes. Rather, those a step ahead of the style set embraced refined, even discreet, details. This season was less about investing in the new It-piece or the tried-and-tested trend but more about how to make your existing wardrobe work that much harder.
So stop, take a closer look, zoom in if you must and see our favourite subtle style cues from people in the know outside the Spring/Summer 2017 shows.
The simple act of wearing underwear as outwear no longer turns heads, but as J-Law (here outside the Dior show) knows, couture-branded smalls are a completely different matter.
