Whilst spring has sprung and it may be heating up Down Under (at least it’s bound to, eventually), the rest of the world prepares for the inevitable chill that is Autumn/Winter international fashion season. After the success of his Spring range for H&M, ultimate cool-guy The Weeknd has come to mankind’s fashion rescue (again) by announcing a follow-up collaboration with the Swedish retail giant.

Last night, the 27-year-old teased us with a sneak peek of his highly-anticipated Fall 2017 range, which will drop by this month’s end. Taking to his Instagram (how else?) The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) gave us a snippet of the Autumn insta-ssentials in his collection, proudly donning a piece that we already can’t wait to get our hot little hands on: a plum-hued, satin bomber jacket with black patches and faux-leather sleeves.

Not pictured was the back detail – an embroidered tiger/python duo. (Keeping up with high fashion trends, perhaps taking a leaf out of Gucci’s oh-so-stylish book, when an embroidered satin bomber jacket was also featured in the Men’s Spring/Summer 2017 catwalk. Truly TheBomb.com.

Earlier this year, the multi-platinum selling music artist spoke about the bomber jacket as an essential piece in his personal wardrobe, telling Billboard, “For my generation, the bomber jacket is like a replacement for the suit jacket. It’s a piece that men wear every day, and it’s something that I would wear for any occasion, whether it’s on the street or going to an awards ceremony.

“For me, bomber jackets are smart, but they are also street and have a lot of attitude.”

Although he’s been keeping hush-hush on the details thus far, we imagine his latest 18-piece capsule wardrobe offering will be the cooler weather counterpart to his previous Spring collection and will include tailored basics as well as more daring statement pieces. Whilst it is menswear, we’re holding out for the continued inclusion of androgynous pieces (read: more steal-from-your-boyfriend-and-never-return hoodies, please?).

No doubt Tesfaye’s effortless street style and natural bad-boy swag helped him secure this encore collection – and we would have to assume its female-approved too, at least by the bevy of beauties he’s known for dating (international supermodel Bella Hadid and currently pop superstar/sweetheart Selena Gomez.) Although perhaps that may have more to do with his Grammy Award-winning, angelic voice…

This isn’t the Starboy singer’s first (fashion) rodeo, and judging by the success of his previous collaboration, we know we’re in for a treat. The collection hits selected H&M stores worldwide (and online) on September 28. Don’t miss out – you know you Earned It.
