It’s a rare thing for the person who designed a range of trend-sparking clothes to then cast, style and photograph its global advertising campaign. But then Karl Lagerfeld never does anything the easy way.

His inability to want (or need) to delegate does have a significant upside: we get a first-hand view of exactly how he suggests women wear his new season creations. And who better to refer to as a personal stylist then the King of Fashion himself?

So to that point, we duly refer to these incredible Cuba-inspired Chanel 2017/18 Cruise Collection campaign images starring Stella Tennant and Mica Arganaraz released yesterday (and featured in our story revealing a behind-the-scenes video tease). Every image is a masterclass in how to wear your favourite accessories this season with a genius twist. Watch and learn…

STYLE STEAL #1 Dress up a statement T-shirt with classic suit pieces (or is it vice versa?) ideally in the same colour palette for maximum effect. Just make sure the message your tee sends is more high end than hick.

StylE STEAL #2 Sling your bumbag/fanny pack (depending on your country of origin) across your body rather than your waist and tuck under your arm. All the convenience of a handbag, but the appearance of a soft clutch.

Style Steal #3 Jazz up a monotone trilby by tying a silk scarf like a around your hairline underneath. The ideal is to pick a bright colour and/or pattern, then add bold lipstick to suit.

STYLE STEAL #4 Throw an XXL hoop earring onto any and every outfit. Shoulder-skimming pieces work best.

style steal #5 Pair very feminine pieces in lace and layers with masculine pieces and lace-up flats for a striking daytime look.

Style Steal #6 A sequinned beret (in this Cuba collection’s context, a playful nod to Che Guevara) is the must-have accessory of the season. We called it here first…
