Earlier this month, Selena Gomez revealed that she was off the market and dating music producer Benny Blanco. And based on her public tributes and recent hard launch, it appears things are going very well. In fact, according to a source, the new relationship has been transformative for the singer.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the source divulged that the two have been seeing each other for a while and that Gomez “finally felt comfortable enough” in their romance to be open about it publicly.
“She feels so safe and secure with him, so she felt like it was a good time to share how happy she is with her fans,” they told the outlet. “Benny is a great communicator, is honest and open with Selena, and listens to her.”
The source went on to praise Blanco and his genuine intentions.
“He’s respectful, isn’t a player, and not in it for the attention or fame,” they added. “He doesn’t care about any of that, and Selena sees that and really trusts him.”
While the romance is still new, the couple have known one another for a long time, having even worked together in 2021 on the song, ‘I Can’t Get Enough’. According to the source, the 31-year-old singer can allegedly be “her most authentic self with Benny without doubting his potential motives.”
The source then explained that Gomez wasn’t looking to date when she struck up a relationship with Blanco but is in a really good place right now.
“It’s taken a lot for her to let someone in, but Benny has proven himself to her, and she appreciates his ideals and morals,” they said. “She feels like she can give him a part of her heart that she hasn’t been able to, or willing to, offer in a relationship in a very long time.
“Selena feels like she has finally found one of the good guys, and it’s been very refreshing for her. Their feelings for each other are very mutual, and they are looking forward to growing their relationship and special bond.”
In an Instagram Story this week, Gomez shared her first social post with Blanco: a black-and-white photo where she can be seen embracing her boyfriend. Soon after, she posted a photo of the two kissing to her grid.
