Searching for Haircut Inspiration? Look No Further Than The Saint Laurent Runway
*adding to saved folder*
Anthony Vaccarello has cemented himself as a force at Saint Laurent, continuously serving up ready to wear collections that marry sexiness with nonchalance in a way that’s surprisingly wearable. The SS23 runway show in Paris overnight was empowered, audacious and elevated, made up of slinky dresses, leather, draping, hooding and a muted jewell-toned palette; a bold collection by comparison of FW22 earlier this year.
It also had a distinctly ’80s feel too it (power shoulders, boxy leather, heavy earrings); an aesthetic that directly translated to the beauty look.
A true highlight was the hair. There wasn’t a style per se, but rather a series of cuts and shapes in line with each model’s natural texture: Buzz cuts with length at the crown; sleek chin length crops worn smooth and tucked behind the ears; shaggy mullets framed with heavy bangs; soft, swishy length; gentle coiffeurs — it was all ’80s with a modern twist, and rife with inspiration for anyone craving a change this season.
Makeup was pared-back but incredible beautiful: soft matte skin, subtle smoked out eyes (either in a deep slate, or soft taupe) and a lip softly smudged with the perfect shade of berry.
All in all it couldn’t have been more perfect — chic, simple and reminiscent of a bygone era but always with a modern edge.
