Soon after, Rihanna emerged in the leather look by ALAÏA’s Belgian creative director Pieter Mulier, her baby bump on full show to the world.
Taking to the stage later in the evening, Rihanna performed “Lift Me Up”, the star track from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and a tribute the late Chadwick Boseman. The performance received a standing ovation from the hundreds-strong audience and a cheers in the air from Rihanna’s partner A$AP Rocky.

The song is nominated this evening for Best Original Song, making this Rihanna’s first Oscar nomination. She will go head to head with Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, “This Is A Life” from Everything Everywhere All At Once, “applause” from Tell It Like A Woman, and “Naatu Naatu” from RRR.
Diagnosed with stage three colon cancer in 2016, Boseman chose to undergo “countless surgeries and chemotherapy” away from the public eye. Sadly, the cancer progressed to stage five and in August of 2020, it was announced the 43-year-old had passed away in his home with his wife and family by his side.
The nine-time Grammy winner set the stage alight during the Apple Music Halftime Show at the 2023 Super Bowl in Arizona on February 12. She also used the moment to announce she is pregnant with her second child.
Rihanna, along with rapper A$AP Rocky, are the proud parents of a nine-month-old baby boy.
