News first broke surrounding Selena Gomez and her alleged beauty brand about six months ago thanks to a trademark lodged for ‘Selena Gomez’ products including “fragrances, cosmetics, skin-care preparations, hair-care preparations, soaps, moisturisers and essential oils.” Now, the Look At Her Now singer has taken to Instagram to unveil Rare Beauty – a beauty brand set to launch in North American Sephora stores later this year.

Guys, I’ve been working on this special project for two years and can officially say Rare Beauty is launching in @sephora stores in North America this summer! Follow @rarebeauty and become part of our beautiful community. Here’s a tiny sneak. There’s more to share AND I can’t wait.
While there’s been no products revealed yet, by the looks of things the brand will champion confidence and self-acceptance, and perhaps tap into the high-shine, glossy aesthetic Gomez is known for. The Rare film clip from her recent album of the same name is actually full of fantasy makeup looks (including glitter, glitter and more glitter), so perhaps the name correlation there is a bit of a precursor of what’s to come.
2020 is certainly the year of Selena, so whach this space for more product updates as they come. In the meantime, head to @rarebeauty for a peek.
