Rachel Gilbert Paloma Gown, $990 SHOP NOW
This Resort season at Rachel Gilbert, the revered designer pivots away from her modus operandi and delves deep into the blue. Inspired by her recent travels to the Maldives and the cobalt hues of its surrounding waters, Gilbert has created unique pieces which emulate the rhythms of the tide and marine life.
In parts, an inimitable style of draping—sculptural, delicate and feminine—form seashells. Elsewhere, hand embellishments which resemble fish nets catch your eye on minis and tops, while metal wares in the shape of coral are the sophisticated add-on to show-stopping gowns. These ocean motifs form the basis of a collection which can take its wearer from daytime work functions to 5pm cocktail hour.
To accompany, Gilbert has excitingly launched her first jewellery line, stunning pieces so clients are able to complete their event looks. A standout are the Paloma Earrings, an extension of the hardware on the Paloma Gown (above), Dress and Top.

This floaty full-length number with cascading ruffles is soft, feminine and uber flattering. Also available in black, this seafoam hue is our favourite for balmy, glamorous evenings. To continue the marine motif, we paired with the Paloma studs, the irregular, angular shapes a sharp contrast to the softer lines of the maxi.

Fully embellished with hand-placed beading and clawstones, this dress is an heirloom piece. Lightweight, it falls so beautifully on the body—fabric even drapes across the bodice for a flattering silhouette—and the back is low. It’s also super interesting up top with multiple spaghetti straps. For an event, pair with the Rylee earrings.
