After a first successful sneaker stint, Prada is once again teaming up with adidas Originals for the second drop of the Prada Superstar, crafted by Prada.

The Italian luxury house and sportswear juggernaut propose a new take on the Superstar while reiterating the first expression of its partnership. Now retailing alone, the iconic Superstar style is offered in a trio of new colorways: monochrome black, white with black, and chrome silver with white.
Designed for a new decade, with a new point of view, the updated Prada Superstar emphasises qualities shared by both brands: collaboration, innate respect for heritage, a passion for sport (of course, Prada made history earlier in the year with the announcement of Raf Simons joining Prada matriarch, Mrs Miuccia Prada, marking a new-era of collaboration). There’s also Prada’s sporty Linea Rossa line, and as for a respect to heritage, Prada is the benchmark.
There’s also of course craftsmanship. At the heart of both brands, the Prada Superstar sneaker – executed by Prada’s footwear specialists – fuses the lexicon of luxury with the language of high-performance sportswear in a style of shoe that has always been, in and of itself, unique and groundbreaking.
THE SHOW THAT NEVER HAPPENED. PRADA’S SIMPLE TAKE ON A COMPLEX WORLD
First created in 1969, the unisex adidas Originals Superstar sneaker now bears the famous Made in Italy stamp, with its Italian origins heat-stamped into the side – forever a marker of quality – alongside the dual logos of Prada and adidas Originals, which appear together on the tongue of every pair.
However the fundamental character of the Superstar remains unchanged: its Prada nuances are subtle, discreet. That’s what happens with an icon: it remains a timeless item which does not call for re-design, rather provokes reconsideration – and a very cool one at that.
The new Prada Superstar will launch starting from 8 September 2020, via Prada boutiques and adidas flagship stores worldwide, alongside selected wholesalers. The range is also available via prada.com and adidas.com.
