BAFTAs Pink Ladies. Pink Is The Biggest Trend On The BAFTAs Red Carpet
Laura Dern, Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh plus more - celebrities are having a pink fit at the 2020 BAFTAs
Pink. Is there anything so sweet? The saccharine shade has served fashion well, from soft girlish sensibilities to all-out retina-searing colour, no such hue has been so versatile and so wearable in fashion – and today’s BAFTAs are no exception.
The 73rd British Academy Film Awards at London’s Royal Albert Hall dished up many incarnations of the shade, with celebrities well and truly tickled pink. There was Scarlett Johansson’s spectacular salmon Versace gown, which was heavy with embellishment and fell with feathers at its train.
Renee Zellweger chose Prada’s candy-pink column gown, timeless with a touch of interest via its sculptural off-the-shoulder detail.
Ella Balinska took the English rose thing quite literally, wearing a tiered mini-dress-turned-voluminous-trapeze-dress in soft pink florals.
While Dame Kristin Scott Thomas also opted for a feminine gown, in filmy pale pink organza with black polka dots.
While Marriage Story winner Laura Dern was magnificent in Valentino Haute Couture, doing Pierpaolo Piccoli’s signature acid colour justice on the BAFTAs red carpet.
Whether you take it bright and bold or pale and pretty, pink is the colour to try for occasional dressing.
