Pete Davidson’s name has been all over the news in recent weeks, following the SNL comedian being spotted on dates with none other than Kim Kardashian. The surprising news firmly cemented the BDE status Davidson’s former fiancé Ariana Grande bestowed upon him during their relationship and prompted many to speculate about the lengths of his comedic charm.
Of course, with people publicly debating how far they’d travel for him (Kardashian went all the way to Staten Island), Davidson is well aware of the public interest in his personal life. On Monday night, the 27-year-old visited Late Night with Seth Meyers where Davidson spoke about people talking and “whispering” about him on the street recently.
During the talk show’s episode, Meyers started the conversation by appearing as though he was about to ask his guest about his relationship with Kardashian, saying, “I want to address something—I feel like I want to confirm if it’s real or a rumour.” The audience then began cheering, before Meyers added, “This is something you’ve been reading a lot about in the press. We appreciate you doing it here.”
Davidson responded by saying, “I’ve been wanting to talk about this because there’s a lot of people I walk by, people are like whispering and making eyes at me. But it is true.” He then turned the joke on the audience (and all of us) by adding, “I do have a show on Tubi coming out.”
Instead of confirming his high-profile romance, Davidson instead spoke about the new animated series The Freak Brothers, which features him as a member of the voice talent that also includes Woody Harrelson, John Goodman and Tiffany Haddish.
Of course, his joke will do nothing to dispel the rumours around himself and Kardashian, nor the creation of literal Pete Davidson sex toys. Anyone else ready for this year to be over?
