Let’s just start this out by saying, every woman gets weak in the knees for two things: humour and height.
So Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson’s whirlwind engagement to Ariana Grande wasn’t too much of a surprise: the man is both tall, hilarious and, as a bonus, goofily charming, after all. His way with women is so alluring that Grande dubbed it on Twitter as being ‘BDE’ – Big Dick Energy.
But it’s what happened in the months after the couple called time on their relationship that really stumped people. Rather than laying low or dating someone out of the spotlight, Davidson popped up with British actress Kate Beckinsale – and by popped up we mean they were photographed passionately kissing each other front row at an NBA game.
Following the unlikely pair’s romance, Davidson was linked to yet another Hollywood woman. This time it was, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’s breakout actress, Margaret Qualley, who Davidson was seen holding hands with during the Tarantino film’s Venice Film Festival debut before attending a premiere with her, albeit seated in the second row.
When a statement was released telling the public the two had called it quits after a few months, there was just one question on our minds: Who would Davidson date next?
We didn’t have long to wait before it was revealed: 18-year-old Kaia Gerber, the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber was spotted on numerous dates with the 26-year-old before the two confirmed their relationship with a PDA-filled Miami vacation where they also attended a friend’s wedding.
Though they haven’t yet posted about each other on social media – Davidson deleted his Instagram entirely following his very public split from Grande, Gerber has been wearing a ‘P’ initial necklace recently.
Now, Davidson has addressed the public’s unwavering attention to his love life during a skit on SNL, joking that he doesn’t understand why people are upset because he’s the best option for women who like dating guys that look like him.
During a conversation with Colin Jost, who is engaged to actress Scarlett Johansson, Davidson said: “It’s not fair Colin. You get to date a famous woman and everyone’s delighted, but when I do it the world wants to punch me in the throat. What’d I do?”
“I mean, if I’m your type of guy that your daughter or mother is into, then trust me, I’m the best-case scenario,” he continued.
“There are a million guys who look like me and I’m the only one with a job. It’s like me or Tyga.”
The man does have a point.
