British pop star Perrie Edwards is pregnant with her first child. The Little Mix band member took to Instagram to announce that she and her boyfriend, football player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, are expecting their first child together.

In two black and white photos, the couple showed off Edwards’ growing baby bump. “Me + Him = You [world and heart emojis] We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!,” the mother-to-be captioned the images.

Oxlade-Chamberlain also shared the same photos to social media, writing, “Anyone got any advice on how to change nappies? So grateful and excited to become a dad. Bring on the sleepless nights!”

The news comes just six days after Edwards’ bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock revealed she is also expecting her first child with fiancé Andre Gray. Pinnock quickly commented on Edwards’ post writing, “Arrrgghhh so so happy for you both! And so bloody happ we get to go on this journey together! Love you so much.”

Shortly after the announcement the band’s manager Samantha Cox, who is also pregnant, shared a picture of herself Edwards and Pinnock all cradling their baby bumps.

“Future best friends pending… We’ve been through so much and now we get to do this together!!,” she wrote. “’Love you both @perrieedwards @leighannepinnock and Aunty @jadethirlwall.”

Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain have been romantically linked since late 2016. They made their relationship Instagram official in January 2017 and spent lockdown in the same home, after moving in together in 2019. It’s reported the couple purchased a $6.5 million home in Surrey, one hour south of London.

In 2016, Edwards revealed Zayn Malik—her former boyfriend of four years and fiance of two—broke up with her via text, before going on to date Gigi Hadid. “It was horrible, the worst time in my life,” Edwards wrote in Little Mix’s book Our World. “A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that. Even though things in my career were going really well, it was incredibly difficult for me.”

“The girls were amazing, we’d have sleepovers and they’d get my favourite desserts and do everything they could to cheer me up,” she continued. “I surrounded myself with friends and family… I didn’t want to be alone because when I was I’d start thinking about things and get upset.”

Thankfully, Edwards got not only a hit song—’Shout Out to My Ex’—out of the break up, but a happily ever after, too.
