Though she was born in New York and grew up in Washington, Olivia Wilde has always been the epitome of California Cool with her tousled beach hair and highlights. But on Tuesday evening, the director stepped out with a fresh new look more reminiscent of Parisian Chic.
Attending the Fashion Trust Awards in Los Angeles, Wilde looked stunning with a soft new cut that flattered her chiselled cheekbones.
Her hairstylist Mara Roszak took to Instagram to share her excitement over the look that she dubbed “French Girl Bangs.”
“I had been thinking about giving her bangs for a bit, and we had been exchanging some texts back and forth about it,” said Roszak. “I sent her some inspiration photos, and then we finally found the right time to do it.”
Roszak styled the fringe with the ROZ Santa Lucia Styling Oil before taking a blowdryer to the sections with a boar bristle round brush to ensure a soft, undone finish.
“They’re a very light long bang that are blended into a jawbone length layer giving a flattering sculpted shape around the face,” she captioned a video of Wilde. “Perfect if you throw your hair up. In 🤍”
Continuing on with the French Girl theme, Wilde wore a bell-sleeved turtleneck dress by Chloé with black leather platform boots. Her retro-inspired makeup by celebrity artist Jo Baker was all about the eyes with a soft graphic eyeliner look and nude lips.
The Don’t Worry Darling director recently turned 39, and shared a throwback photo revealing the tattoo she got on her butt when she was a tween to mark the occassion.
“39 and feeling fine.” she captioned the post. “Thanks for the birthday love, I milked it for way too long and it’s been great. Here’s to whatever’s next. Probably not another tramp stamp but who knows. #shameless #howdareshe #thehorror ♥️
