Day One and Two of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia saw a riot of colour, texture and print play out on the streets, as the style set descended upon Carriageworks (and various chic off-site venues) for 48 hours of fashionable frivolity. Sherbet suiting was all the rage, with Nadia Bartel, Nadia Fairfax, Deborah Symond, Marina Didovich and model Anna Feller all scooping up sorbet-like tailoring. Head-to-toe tonal was big, as too fancy headwear, which included cute clips, dramatic headscarves and retro headbands. Bags were either tricked-up in pearls, perspex or monogrammed designer print, and shrunk, of course. Because where would 2019 street style be without a micro bag?

But the unsurprising winner was the costume change: seen on just about everyone. Ah, the ol’ change in the back of a Benz. It’s quite the art form, and when mastered, is pulled off spectacularly well (by some).

Here, the best street style from MBFWA, outfits changes and all.
