Euphoria is back, and don’t we love to see it. The HBO hit’s first season was arguably a large conduit for the Y2K fashion and beauty movement, and now that the second season is here, we’re betting big on the characters’ costuming driving new trends once again.

And while we’re partial to the relaxed style of Rue or the expressive aesthetic of Jules, there seems to be a frontrunner in the fashion and beauty stakes in the show’s sophomore season – the iconic Maddy Perez.

From her razor-sharp winged liner to her bodycon dresses, Maddy’s season 2 style is a veritable sartorial goldmine – and we’re only two episodes in.

In a standout look from the first episode, Maddy – played by Alexa Demie – dons the aforementioned black bodycon mini dress from AKNA Store, with matching black gloves and sparkling strappy Amina Muaddi heels.

The look was paired with XXL extensions, a zig-zag headband and an unforgettable cat-eye that had, as lead makeup artist Donni Davy described, wings that were “sharp like a knife to cut through whatever stands in her way.”

In a recent interview, Euphoria‘s costume designer Heidi Bivens described Maddy’s season 2 vibe as “definitely darker. I think she also is feeling more grown up. She has seen a lot in her short amount of time, so she’s jaded and is imagining herself in the next chapter of her life, and is even fantasizing about what it’s going to be like to be out of school and have more freedom.”

Although in the second episode we did get a glimpse of softness, as Maddy paired a fur-trimmed Blumarine cardigan from Depop store Eden Vintage (because you just know Maddy is a major Depop girl) and a silk top with loose tendrils cascading from a simple up-do.

Then there was the elegant gowns Maddy tried on for size, including a strapless sculptural Thierry Mugler gown, which looked elegant with her slicked-back spiky bun.

We’ve added all of the above to our Saved folder, and we aren’t even halfway through the season yet.

Can’t wait to see what Maddy serves up next.
