It might have been one of the most hotly anticipated shows at the recent Paris Men’s Fashion Week, but there was plenty in Virgil Abloh’s debut collection for Louis Vuitton to captivate female fashion-lovers too.

While many of the ready-to-wear pieces on his runway could pass as gender neutral, it was his bags that particularly caught GRAZIA’s eye.

His collection, which inspired a standing ovation from a celeb-heavy crowd including Rihanna, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Alexander Skarsgard and Bella Hadid, plus a tearful hug from his long-time friend and creative partner West, featured accessories that were clearly designed to appeal to both homme and femme clientele.

The white leather overnight bag, for example, is a fashion blogger’s dream. Ditto the oversized doctor’s bag in equally impractical white. The see-through totes made of red, green and hologram plastic are the ideal carry-on companion for global travellers unashamed of their wares and keen to fast-track security.

Whether it was a lesson well learned from the genius Louis Vuitton x Supreme men’s accessories that permeated both men’s and women’s street style last year or a calculated move from a clever new designer looking to make his commercial and creative mark, this was a collection that offered something for everyone.
