Despite the controversy that surrounds the captivating Hulu series Pam & Tommy, leading lady Lily James has continued to honour the Baywatch actress both on the screen and off it. For the finale premiere in Los Angeles overnight, the actress wore two looks inspired by past appearances from Anderson.
On the red carpet inside the Greek Theatre, James wore a sheer halter-neck Roberto Cavalli gown complete with buckle detailing and plunging back cutout from the Autumn/Winter 2022 collection. The “Rebecca” star was photographed alongside co-star, Sebastian Stan who is seemingly bringing back the pastel velvet suit from the ’00s. James’ dress is reminiscent to a gold look Anderson wore in 2017.

The star-studded event then moved to the bar for a glamorous afterparty. In a stunning wardrobe change, James’ reappeared in a black latex midi dress from Versace not dissimilar to Anderson’s past faux leather looks.
Prior to the release of the final episode, James spoke with The Hollywood Reporter on the research required for such an iconic role. “We spent a long time watching them. I think both of us worked so hard and really, really wanted to do them justice and be good custodians of them,” James told the publication.
In an earlier interview with Porter, James revealed that she had attempted to reach out the Anderson. “I was really hopeful that she would be involved. I wish it had been different,” she said. “My sole intention was to take care of the story and to play Pamela authentically.”
Anderson has remained silent on the Hulu series, but has since released a teaser to her own tell-all Netflix documentary to help clear up “a million misconceptions” of her life. A release date for that project has not be revealed.
