Could nature be healing? Rather unceremoniously, Leonardo DiCaprio was spotted on a casual coffee run with Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti in Santa Barbara.
As someone whose morning begins by perusing the latest headlines, my heart skipped a beat when I skimmed that the Academy Award winner was back to his old tricks by taking a ‘friend’ for a romantic tryst. That was until I read who joined the 48-year-old on his summer walk: the 25-year-old married model.
Ceretti wed Italian muso, Matteo Milleri, in a romantic Ibiza wedding in 2020, wearing a minimal Jacquemus gown for the occasion. So, despite DiCaprio’s bachelor reputation preceding him, this recent outing is proving that the actor’s platonic friendships are just as prevalent as his romantic ones.
For the occasion, both Ceretti and DiCaprio cut a casual figure, leaning into off-duty athleisure to combat the Californian heat. In the images, which you can see for yourself here, the pair were spotted strolling along a promenade before stopping for iced lattes and ice cream.
DiCaprio sported his signature ‘incognito’ silhouette, opting for a camp baseball hat, black rayon frames, a classic white shirt and knee-grazing khaki cargo pants. Ceretti complimented DiCaprio’s look in her own spin on the causal ensemble, choosing a pair of black biker shorts, a slouchy white long-sleeve jumper, a klein blue purse and silver earrings.
Both Ceretti and DiCaprio complimented their outfits with gorpcore-approved hiking shoes, with the Versace muse opting for a pair of Salomon’s coveted XT6 sneakers. Along with the likes of Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Bieber, it seems that Ceretti and DiCaprio are joining the ranks of A-listers rebelling against the Adidas Samba reign to keep the all-terrain outdoor runner as the shoe du jour this season.
DiCaprio and Ceretti haven’t been spotted solo together before, but given their mutual friend, Gigi Hadid, and respective careers, it’s clear they would’ve crossed paths before. Ceretti, Gigi and Bella Hadid have been close friends for years after first meeting on the international fashion month circuit.
Given recent reports of DiCaprio’s 4th of July weekend rendezvous with Gigi, we wonder if his jaunt with her close friend is signalling something. A potential soft launch could be in the works…
