While we were gushing over Bella Hadid and Blake Lively from afar, it seems that Australian actor Jacob Elordi stole the spotlight from inside the Met Gala this week. By now you would have seen that viral TikTok video from Lizzo, where she melts over the Euphoria star (we don’t blame her) but it was at the after party where the actor found a surprising fan.
In a video shared by TikTok user @deannamarienyc, Elordi can be seen talking with a very underdressed Leonardo DiCaprio at Casa Cipriani who was sporting his signature black baseball cap at the time. Much of their brief conversation was inaudible until the pair shook hands and DiCaprio could be seen saying, “The show’s amazing.”

The after party was also attended by the likes of Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Naomi Campbell and Jared Leto. Elordi was in attendance at the Met Gala wearing an embellished Burberry suit alongside Euphoria co-stars Maude Apatow and Sydney Sweeney. Unfortunately, Zendaya was unable to attend the annual event due to pre-production on the upcoming film, Challengers.
DiCaprio has long been a fan of the HBO series. In a 2019 interview, the Oscar-winning actor told Variety that season one was “amazing”.
Elordi hails from Brisbane, Australia and rose to international heartthrob fame following his breakout role in the Netflix film, Kissing Booth. The 24-year-old nabbed the bad boy role of Nate Jacobs in the teen series before launching onto the big screen with Deep Water alongside Ana de Armas in Ben Affleck in early 2022.
He has previously been linked to Kaia Gerber. They dated for just 12 months before splitting in late-2021.
