By all accounts on the red carpet at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Lady Gaga is the woman of the hour. Despite being snubbed from the nominations list at the upcoming Academy Awards, the singer and actress is vying for her first individual accolade at the SAG Awards tonight. As a peer-nominated event, House of Gucci was certainly well-received garnering three mentions.

In a stunning finale to the red carpet at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica’s airport on Sunday, Gaga made an entrance not in Gucci but in a Giorgio Armani Privé gown – expectedly an ode to the Italian heritage of her new film. It featured a strapless gold bodice and plunging neckline in white with a pencil-style skirt. Tiffany & Co. diamonds accompanied the look.

Taking style cues from old Hollywood glamour, Gaga’s hair featured an extreme side part and sleek waves while makeup featured a white eyeliner – reminiscent to Julia Fox’s look at Milan Fashion Week a few days prior.

Co-star Salma Hayek was also in attendance for the ceremony. Speaking to People on the red carpet she gushed about Gaga, saying, “Lady Gaga is so ingenious. It is so fun to hear her talk.” The “Poker Face” singer is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani alongside fellow nominees Jessica Chastain, Olivia Colman, Jennifer Hudson and Nicole Kidman.

Not only is Gaga in the running for an award, she will also serve as a presenter throughout the evening. This evening’s glamorous appearance harks back to her first awards season in 2019 for A Star Is Born where she wore a white Dior gown. Unfortunately she did not take home an award.

Before the release of House of Gucci late last year, Gaga responded to criticism from the original Gucci family for not approaching them prior to taking on the role. “I only felt that I could truly do this story justice if I approached it with the eye of a curious woman who was interested in possessing a journalistic spirit so that I could read between the lines of what was happening in the film’s scenes,” she said. “Meaning that nobody was going to tell me who Patrizia Gucci was. Not even Patrizia Gucci.”
