Last night’s Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final saw Serbian star Novak Djokovic sink Swiss King Rodger Federer in a spectacular 5-set finale, in what was a fitting way to conclude a brilliant week of tennis. A week of shock first-round upsets, hefty fines and of course, some mighty tennis. Thanks to the mass of celebrity who descended upon the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in London, there were also some mighty moments off the court, too, with fashion taking centre stage courtside.

For some, it was about adhering to the prim codes of Wimbledon, choosing the demure and debonair in favour of high fashion. While others used their challenges to buck the posh tennis tropes of the oldest tennis tournament in the world, with Kendall Jenner even opting for a high-cut hot pant situation.

From Kate and Meghan’s sovereign style to Kendall Jenner’s neo-nostalgic and rather cheeky take on tennis dressing, here’s the best fashion of Wimbledon 2019.

Kate Middleton
The Duchess of Cambridge – who is a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club – chose three modest, knee-length frocks for both the Men’s and Women’s Finals, plus Day 2 of the Championships. First there was favourite Alexander McQueen (whom she wore to her wedding); a white button-down dress with black buttons and black leather bow. Then to witness Simona Halep’s historic defeat over Serena Williams, Middleton wore a jungle green dress by Dolce & Gabbana with gold button and bow detailing, while at the Men’s Final (where she presented Novak Djokovic with his trophy) it was an elegant baby blue dress by Emilia Wickstead. Both dresses were accessorised with nude pumps and a nude handbag.

Meghan Markle
The Duchess of Sussex opted for a more relaxed take on tennis dressing, choosing a striped linen blazer by L’Agence and casual fedora, followed by a crisp white Hugo Boss shirt and pleated Givenchy skirt for her very public outing with Kate at the Women’s Final.

Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner did tennis-style with a 90s (top)spin at the Men’s Final, wearing a Ralph Lauren chambray-hued shirt, belted white hot-pants and Adidas sneakers, which she paired with neo-nostalgic accessories; 90s frames and a chain bag.

janelle monae
How’s this for a Wimbledon look? Style queen, Janelle Monae, wore a bold red, white and grey striped outfit by Thom Browne replete with heeled brogue, knee-high socks and red newsboy cap.

Sienna Miller
You say chic, we say Sienna Miller, who arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in a tawny suit by Ralph Lauren Collection, tortoise accessories and everyone’s favourite, a barely-there kitten heel.

Claire Foy
Actress Claire Foy’s fashionable leaning came to the fore at Wimbledon; feminine florals and quirky bags. Day 10 saw the actress wear a floral frock by Zimmermann with Cesta Collective bag, while at the Men’s Final it was a delicate floral tea dress by Ralph Lauren which she again teamed with a straw basket bag.

Diana Silvers
Our pick for best dressed goes to star-on-the-rise, Diana Silvers, who risked it for the buttercream biscuit wearing a cream coloured waistcoat with nothing but a pair of flowing slacks of the same hue. She paired the Polo Ralph Lauren two-piece with black tasselled brogues, polka dot pocket square and quaint boater for a look that borrowed from the boys and looked incomparably chic doing so.

Kate Beckinsdale
The actress took tennis dressing to the nines in a frothy white cocktail dress and sunflower-adorned pumps at the Men’s Final.

Poppy Delevingne
The model grounded a jade green midi dress with a pair of Feiyue Fe Lo Classics and Saint Laurent’s heart-shaped frames.

Adwoa Aboah
Another style smash was by way of model Adwoa Aboah, who hit all kinds of winners with a delicious lemon coat by Blazé Milano, Chanel ballet flats and Chanel polarised sunglasses. But perhaps the best part was her sartorial shoutout to the game, wearing a white Nike tennis tee underneath.

Caro Daur
German blogger Caro Daur serves tennis-chic in a head-to-toe Polo Ralph Lauren including a cream shirt and coat combo, camel leather pants and classic black loafers. And to top it off? A black Polo Beret. Who says you can’t bring a little of the French Open to Wimbledon?

Lily allen
Lily Allen chose Lee Mathews to watch Wimbledon in, with a beautiful patchwork maxi dress by the Australian designer, which she paired with a soft yellow Chanel Boy Bag and blue suede platforms.

Jourdan Dunn
Another winner for Australia was supermodel Jourdan Dunn’s Zimmermann dress, which pared-back with white Adidas sneakers and natural curls.

Charli XCX
The singer wore a floral slip dress and white bag by Chloe, also matching her red-ombré hair with her red croc boots.

Hana Cross
Brooklyn Beckham’s latest squeeze, model Hana Cross, teamed Realisation Par’s dress-about-town, The Kate in Summer Loving Green (you can purchase the longer version here), with age-appropriate styling cues; a washed denim jacket and black espadrilles (a Wimbledon footwear favourite).

David Beckham
And we’ll leave you with this…David Beckham at the Women’s Singles Final clashing spots and stripes and paisley pocket squares for a delectable (sartorial) feast. Oh, David.
