Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton attended Wimbledon together on Saturday, marking only the second time the Duchesses have made a solo outing.

The Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge were courtside to watch newcomer Simona Halep shockingly beat tennis great Serena Williams.

Doing their best to put those relentless feud rumours to rest, Kate and Meghan sat side-by-side throughout the game, smiling and clapping along with Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton. The last and only time we’ve seen Meghan and Kate out without Harry, William or any other royal family members was Wimbledon last year.

Kate wore an emerald-green Dolce & Gabbana midi-dress, while Meghan went for a Givenchy white collared shirt paired with a midi-skirt by Hugo Boss.

Meghan was undoubtedly there to support her good friend Williams. But even though the American lost, after the match Meghan shared her congratulations to Halep.

Williams acknowledged in her post-match comments just how much it means to her that Meghan comes to her games – she also attended earlier this month.

“[Meghan is] such a great friend and a great person as well,” Williams, 37, said.

“And always positive, no matter what. It’s so good to have people like that, just to know and she’s such a fan of the sport.”

Williams also pointed out that Meghan was “happy for Simona.”

“She saw that she played unbelievably, and that’s just the kind of person that she is,” she said

Hopefully this Wimbledon outing won’t cause any bad publicity for the Duchess of Sussex. When she want to watch Williams earlier this month, she was criticised after her security guards allegedly asked people not to take photos of her, claiming she was there in a “private” capacity. Photos showed lots of empty seats around Meghan and her two friends, apparently for security reasons, which some said was unfair.
