Divorce settlements are messy, particularly in the land of celebrities where everything has an expensive price tag. In the Los Angeles Hidden Hills, Kimye‘s family home was purchased in 2014 for USD $20 million before the couple reportedly pooled another $20 million for renovations.

TMZ has reported that Kim Kardashian will keep the 15,000-square-foot Southern California mansion.

Kardashian has been spending nearly sole time with the former couple’s four children, North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1, so it only makes sense to stay put. Kourtney Kardashian’s ex husband Scott Disick is also situated in the Hidden Hills and the rest of the Kardashian clan is close by.

According to the publication, the 40-year-old mother has also asked for joint legal and physical custody of the children with Kanye West, however the finer details of the agreement is not yet known.

As for West, the artist has been spending most of his time at the 9,000-acre family ranch in Wyoming which was purchased in 2019. It is still unclear where he will reside permanently, following the couple’s split just weeks ago.

On February 19, 2021, Kardashian officially filed for divorce from West and since the situation has been described as “amicable”.

Cracks within the pair’s marriage began to appear during the early months of the pandemic, and West’s chaotic run for president appeared to worsen the situation. At West’s first presidential rally, he went on a lengthy rant where he revealed that he and Kardashian had considered aborting their first child, North.

Following the event, a source told People: “Kim is shocked that Kanye spoke about North at the rally. She is furious that he shared something so private. She loves her kids tremendously and wants to protect them. Her favourite thing in the world is being a mom.”

Word of a divorce didn’t appear until January 5, when Page Six reported that it was “imminent” after the reality television star hired LA-based attorney to the stars, Laura Wasser.

More to come.
