It might be a ‘Brat’ summer, but for models-turned-actresses Kaia Gerber and Camila Morrone, their rising mercury wardrobes have eschewed the vapid chartreuse hue dominating the zeitgeist. Indeed, the best friends offered a lesson in Downtown dressing during a girl’s night in New York City with the style savants wearing matching monochromatic silhouettes for an outing in the East Village.
For the occasion, the Celine muse and Palm Royale star continued her minimalist streak in a black tank top, low-slung silk maxi skirt that sat on her hip bones and black leather ballet flats from coveted French brand Repetto. The Daisy Jones and The Six star also received the balmy memo, complimenting Gerber’s fuss-free ensemble in a look similar to the flirty Dôen dress that went viral when she was seen wearing it earlier in the week.

Morrone’s outfit consisted of a body-conscious shape that slightly gathered in the waist before cascading into an asymmetrical hem. See pictures of their similar date night style, here.
It’s reported the pair enjoyed an evening at the theatre—fitting considering their vocation as thespians—watching a play titled “Pre-Existing Condition”. The production debuted earlier this week ahead of its limited run at the historic Connelly Theater, with their presence in the audience allegedly “unmissable” due to the small size of the audience.
They were also joined by Gerber’s boyfriend and Academy Award-winning actor Austin Butler, music video director Cole Bennett and The White Lotus star Fred Hechinger. (The latter will soon become a household name after his portrayal as Emperor Caracalla in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II across from Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Joseph Quinn.)
These sightings of Gerber and Morrone will soon become commonplace after the duo cemented their friendship on a recent girl’s trip to the Grand Cayman’s luxurious (and most appropriately, Slim Aarons-inspired) Palm Heights hotel.

Sharing photos from their vacation, Gerber and Morrone enjoyed the spoils of the Caribbean by indulging in fresh coconut water from the striped pool chair and reading the bespoke book edit curated by Gerber’s Library Science book club.
