While Julia Fox was walking throughout Los Angeles last week further solidifying her stance as a style icon, she was quizzed by TMZ on whether Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson “should be worried” about their safety amid Kanye West’s ongoing threats and worrying social media content. The Uncut Gems actress dismissed concerns, replying, “No! No, no, no. Kanye’s harmless. I just think that’s his artistic creative expression.”

She added, “I know it’s aggressive, but I think if it really came down to it, I don’t think Kanye would hurt a fly.”

In a matter of days and perhaps after some reflection, the cult star has retracted her previous comments, explaining she wasn’t aware of his most recent rants that had him temporarily banned from Instagram. Most recently the rapper left a racial slur in the comment section of Trevor Noah’s account which according to a spokesperson, violated the platform’s policies on hate speech, harassment and bullying, resulting in the 24-hour ban.

“I would like to point out that I had not seen the latest Instagram posts at the time of this video,” she said in a since-deleted social media post. “Believe it or not I have a life and a son, and I don’t have google alerts for this man!”

Fox and West dated for just six weeks in early 2022 before he was later seen dating Kim K lookalike, Chaney Jones.

West’s problematic behaviour has become the subject of prolific public debate. At the weekend it was revealed that the DONDA artist was banned from performing at the upcoming 2022 Grammy Awards due to “concerning online behaviour”. Noah has since responded, saying, “I said counsel Kanye not cancel Kanye.”

Even Pete Davidson extended an olive branch to the Yeezy designer last week, lending some sage advice about mental health via DMs.

“Let me help you man. I struggle with mental stuff too,” the Saturday Night Live comedian wrote. “It’s not an easy journey, you don’t have to feel this way anymore. There’s no shame in having a little help. You’ll be so happy and at peace.”

More is surely to come.
