Kanye West’s escalating behaviour throughout his divorce from Kim Kardashian has been worrying to watch, to say the least. Over the past few months, the rapper has used his online platform to accuse his ex-wife of being a bad mother, harass her new boyfriend Pete Davidson at length, and now to leave a racial slur on the account of talk show host Trevor Noah.

After Noah commented at length about West’s troubling behaviour towards Kardashian on the Daily Show on Tuesday night, West responded by leaving a racially charged comment on Noah’s account. This was reportedly the final straw, prompting Meta, Instagram’s parent company, to lock West out of his account temporarily. This means he won’t be able to post, comment or send messages for a 24-hour period, TMZ and Rolling Stone report.

A spokesperson for Meta told TMZ West’s recent posts violated the platform’s policies on hate speech, harassment and bullying, resulting in the 24-hour ban. They added  the company is prepared to take additional steps if further violations occur in the future.

Of course, West isn’t the first person to be banned for similar activity. He follows in the footsteps of Donald Trump, who was permanently banned from Twitter in January 2021 for inciting violence after the Capitol riots.

This latest update comes days after texts between Davidson and West were leaked, allegedly showing the SNL comedian asking West to meet in person and saying he’s decided not to let West “treat us this way anymore.” The message was followed by a picture of Davidson lying in bed, accompanied by the text, “In bed with your wife.” Which… likely didn’t help matters.

Despite the drama, Kardashian and Davidson seem to be happy and in love, with Kardashian revealing yesterday her new boyfriend has multiple tattoos for her, including one that’s branded—and therefore unremovable—on his chest of her name (top left in the above shirtless ‘gram). She also went Instagram official with Davidson last week, telling Ellen DeGeneres, . “I guess it’s not official until you post.”

“I have the cutest pictures of us and I want to be like, ‘Oh my god, we’re so cute!’ But then I’m like, ‘Don’t be so desperate, don’t be posting so much, just give a glimpse.’” Ah, young love.
