Jessica Biel is standing by her husband, Justin Timberlake, following his recent run-in with the law.
After the musician was arrested for driving while intoxicated or impaired while heading from the American Hotel to a friend’s house in the early hours of June 18, the public scrutiny has been swift. Biel, 42, was then seen on the set of her new Prime Video series, The Better Sister, just hours after Timberlake, 43, was arraigned.
Though neither has released a public statement about the incident, a source has told People magazine that Timberlake’s arrest was a “distraction” for the actress and that “she’s not happy” about his actions and the spotlight it’s put on the family.
“She doesn’t like any attention on the family, especially not negative,” said the source, adding that Biel is prepared to support her husband. “[She] will always be by his side.”
“He’s a great dad and husband,” added the source.
While Biel will be filming for the next few months, Timberlake is currently travelling as part of his Forget Tomorrow world tour.
Timberlake’s recent mugshot is far from the first time he’s generated some scandal, with the couple weathering a cheating scandal in 2019 after photos emerged of the Cry Me a River singer holding hands with his co-star, Alisha Wainwright. After posting a public apology to his wife, the pair seemed to move on from the drama. He has also faced a wave of backlash due to accusations his ex, Britney Spears, raised in her memoir, The Woman In Me.
Timberlake and Biel met, dated, and broke up in 2007, eventually tying the knot in October 2012. The two have two sons, Silas, whom they welcomed in 2015, and Phineas, who was born during the pandemic.
