If there’s one thing you click on this morning, let it be Jennifer Aniston and Jon Hamm’s sex scene from Morning Wars.
For those who have been anticipating a Don Draper resurgence in all his deliciously ‘tall, dark and handsome’ glory, Hamm delivered that in spades in the latest episode of the Apple TV+ drama.
This season saw Aniston once again return to her role as news anchor Alex Levy, who along with the ensemble cast including Reese Witherspoon and Billy Crudup, are thrown into uncertain waters when tech titan, Paul Marks, takes an interest in UBA.
With Hamm portraying the billionaire, the showrunners have been building up to an explosion between the two characters, though we hadn’t expected their tryst to be as risqué as what was presented.
The sixth episode of the third season, entitled “The Standford Student”, realised the Mad Men x Friends cross-over we didn’t realise we had. With Hamm’s suave energy playing against Aniston’s own seductive tact, the result was something incredibly naughty but oh-so watchable.
Though, for our readers joining us from their mobile devices at work or industry-issued monitors, we must warn you that the contents of the scene are entirely NSFW.
In the scene, Hamm and Aniston’s characters share a steamy kiss before moving to the bedroom for a goosebump-inducing ménage à trois. (The third party? That’s us, the can’t-look-away viewers.)
Of course, for the actors who got their respective big breaks in successful TV franchises set in New York, it’s only natural that this steamy sex scene occurs in the Hamptons. A move Rachel Green would’ve certainly approved of.
The interest netizens have taken in this moment has catapulted the scene up there with some of the greatest on-screen displays of passion. Some have even described the event as the contemporary equivalent of Ross and Rachel.
Though we wouldn’t go that far, we would highly suggest you cancel tonight’s plans, set up your Apple TV+ subscription (if you haven’t already) and call your girlfriends over for an evening of wine and Hamm. (Jon, that is). This is one scene you won’t want to miss.
