Jennifer Aniston is the pin-up girl for staying on good terms with an ex (remember this SAG moment with Brad Pitt?), but, of all of them, we think the 54-year-old actress might be closest to her former husband Justin Theroux.

Aniston lost her father, Days Of Our Lives actor John Aniston, in November of 2022. He was 89. According to the Daily Mail, his famous daughter has been struggling with the loss of her dad and has found great comfort in “a tight knit support system” which includes some of her father’s friends and Theroux.

“Jennifer has sent [John’s] friends gifts and called them and remembers their birthdays and [has] been a real sweetie,” a source told the publication. “She has been incredibly generous and has had his friends up to her house for parties to talk about the good old days with John.”

The article claims Theroux calls Aniston every day to console her.

The actors were together for four years after meeting on the set of Wanderlust in 2011. In 2015, while the couple were in New York, and on Aniston’s 41st birthday, Theroux asked her to marry him. They wed in the August of that year at their mansion in Bel Air. But it wasn’t meant to be. Two years later the pair amicably parted ways, a moment Theroux unexpectedly shed light on in a 2021 interview with Esquire.

“Like it or not, we didn’t have that dramatic split, and we love each other. I’m sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship. We [don’t have to] be together [to] still bring each other joy and friendship. It would be a loss if we weren’t in contact, for me personally,” Theroux said.

Upon her father’s passing, Aniston posted a moving tribute to Instagram.

“Sweet Papa,” it began. “You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace–and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time. Don’t forget to visit.”
