Just four months after it was announced that Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet had sadly split, it has been reported that the Aquaman star is dating actress Eiza González. Best known for her recent appearance in Ambulance.
A source for E! News revealed today that the pair had been “dating casually for a couple of months.” Momoa was recently in attendance at the Ambulance premiere in Los Angeles, but the pair did not pose, nor were seen together.
“She really likes him,” the insider disclosed to the publication. “She is very focused on her career right now. But everyone loves him and he is a fun guy to be around.”
Momoa and Bonet made a surprising split – seriously, we were shocked – in January after four years of marriage and a 16 year relationship. In a joint statement at the time, the couple revealed, “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.”
An insider later clarified the real reason for the split which was apparently due to “different priorities”.
“Jason is very focused on his career and wants to work. He has found success and it’s driving him and is very fulfilling. Lisa wants to be in LA and is not interested in going on location for long periods of time with him.”
The former couple share two children, 14-year-old daughter Lola and 13-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf.
In a vague statement on social media, Momoa later addressed the split after rumours the pair had reconciled. “We had a wonderful time in NYC. Mahalo [thank you] to the fans and press for being generous and giving us space for the children, it’s hard enough separating in the public eye. We appreciate the continued privacy through these times, aloha, j.”
