Each Jacquemus show seems to culminate in a shared fashion moment; a sartorial degustation devoured not just by those afforded a front row seat, but by an online audience too. On the day of each runway, my social media feeds become filled with reposts of the reliably spectacular settings and consistently cool looks.
It’s not just my fashion-inclined friends either; Jacquemus shows expertly occupy that elusive space between popular culture and high-end style. The French label couples a wondrous backdrop with covetable looks that tend to seem more universally approachable to the wider public than that of the heritage houses – inviting in the uninitiated and generating the perfect conditions for a viral moment.
This year’s offering was obviously impacted by the global pandemic, but not at all impeded by it. L’Amour, the brand’s Spring/Summer 2021 show, took place in a Parisian wheat field, with models striding down a 600-metre wooden runway that curled through the long grass.
Replete with breezy dresses, gelato-hued separates and lace-up detailing, the entire collection immediately catapulted to the top of every fashion girl’s wish list, and now it’s finally landed in stores – just in time for our holiday social commitments.
Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus celebrated the first drop from the SS21 collection has finally hit stores, posting a throwback to the now-iconic show on his Instagram. “BRING ME BACK,” he captioned the short video.
Now that the collection is finally within a few short clicks, we’re planning our next outing around each item. We’ve saved our pennies and readied our carts in anticipation, so here’s what we’ll be shopping from the Jacquemus SS21 runway.
