Daughter to Jude Law, Iris Law, is not one to stray away from a bold opportunity. Overnight the model debuted an unexpected blonde buzz cut to social media. First announced via British Voguethe 20-year-old described the brave experience as “liberating”.

“The day I shaved my head, I changed my life. I’ve never done anything like that before,” Law told the publication.

The decision to take to the clippers came about as she nabbed her debut acting role for the upcoming series, Pistol. Based on Sex Pistol’s guitarist Steve Jones and his memoir, Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, the six-part drama will see the actress play punk icon Soo Catwoman (who wore a distinctive blonde buzzcut).

“What if I have to shave my hair?,” she recalled to Vogue. “When the wig became a possibility, I was almost disappointed that I didn’t have to.”

And of course she did it anyway.

“I wanted to do something that felt liberating. The day I shaved my head, I changed my life. I’ve never done anything like that before,” she said.

Law continued, “I looked in the mirror and thought it was going to be emotional but it wasn’t. It felt so positive.”

The cut and colour was courtesy of hairstylist Anthony Turner. In Gen Z fashion, Law immediately took to social media platform TikTok to unveil the new look to followers. She also featured bleached eyebrows, a trend Lizzo just tried herself.

Law’s mother Sadie Frost commented on the post saying, “So strong and beautiful my darling iris. Ha ha no more teddy bear hats and i can get to stroke your head now more.”

The forthcoming series is directed by Oscar winner Danny Boyle and will also star Talulah Riley as fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, Louis Partridge as band member Sid Vicious and Maisie Williams as fellow punk icon, Jordan.

We can expect this to be a fashion-fuelled project too. Stay tuned for updates.
