In lieu of runways and red carpet events, Irina Shayk has taken to using the streets of New York City to showcase her style during the pandemic.
While normal mums would throw on a pair of jeans and a tee to pick their children up from daycare, Shayk—a supermodel mum—has been using the opportunity to wear statement look after look. Case in point, the purple-and-yellow plaid mini-skirt suit set from Vivienne Westwood’s spring 2021 collection, which Shayk was photographed wearing yesterday with her and Bradley Cooper’s daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, in tow.
Channeling Cher Horowitz from Clueless, Shayk offset the iconic ‘90s look with a pair of knee-high combat boots, while making the outfit work for the daytime by tucking a basic black camisole underneath her jacket.
Shayk wore black sunglasses and a small black handbag, while managing to push her toddler’s stroller, wear a mask, and hold a coffee.
Vivienne Westwood is having a moment right now with the revival of corsets—the designer’s iconic vintage corsets are selling online for over $7,000—and Shayk is more than embracing the designer.
This is the second Vivienne Westwood look she’s worn this week, after wearing a pair of the brand’s unreleased denim chaps while running errands in Manhattan on Tuesday. Alongside her statement pants, Shayk wore a cropped leather jacket from Nour Hammour over top of a SKIMS bodysuit. She accessorised with a chain-link shoulder bag from Manu Atelier and scarlet eyewear from Linda Farrow x The Attico.
Not only has Shayk been filling our street style-voided hearts in New York during the pandemic, but the 35-year-old also flew to Europe—specifically Italy—to show off her enviable wardrobe there during Milan Fashion Month, alongside fellow ridiculously beautiful and ridiculously stylish sisters, Bella and Gigi Hadid.
Can it be called essential work? I’d say so.
