Winter in New York City is no walk in the park. But for the pack of supermodels who call the city and its sub-zero temperatures home, a very specific street style is taking hold.
As Dua Lipa, Kendall Jenner and the likes lounge about in crop tops in the warmer LA climate, Irina Shayk has been stealing hearts in NYC with her collection of statement coats. The latest? A tiger-printed trench from French label Rowen Rose. Shayk paired the bold, eye-catching piece with an entirely black outfit; high-waisted leather trousers, a black turtleneck, a pair of chunky Burberry sneakers, and a bag by beloved brand, By Far. Like Bella Hadid did yesterday, Shayk wore a black beanie over her loose brunette hair – a far cry from le beret that went viral – and accessorised/hid behind oval-shaped eyewear.

Just a few days ago, Shayk was photographed wearing a different but similarly bold Teddy coat by Max Mara. Instead of opting for the brand’s signature tawny colourway, Shayk went for a blue striped version, pairing it with combat boots, a brown turtleneck and black pants. Again, she wore a By Far bag.

But that’s not all! Last month, the model and mother-of-one was photographed in a shearling jacket by independent Australian brand Hansen & Gretel (which she’s been spotted wearing numerous times), as well as a red leather trench and a shearling-lined brown coat.
It’s only the sixth week of the year and already we’ve had five statement coats. If ever there was a case for moving to the snow, this is it.
