Celebrities have either sunk or swum during the pandemic when it comes to being relatable and compassionate to their millions of followers, most of whom are living in very different ‘new normals’ to those with huge Hollywood homes.
Supermodel Bella Hadid falls into the latter category, using her social media during COVID to post homemade recipes (this chicken katsu ramen is potentially her best work yet), support for those who are lonely or living in harsh conditions and books she’s reading, even opening up to her 38 million fans about taking time away from Instagram to focus on her mental health at the beginning of the year.
Hadid is also relatable when it comes to fashion. The 24-year-old is an avid Depop user, is often found trawling through vintage stores in New York and is a fan of both high street and high end designers. Case in point: Hadid has been spotted not one, not two, but three times in Australian jewellery designer Jackie Mack.
Most recently, the model popped out in New York wearing a pinstripe suit, pink tee, matching pink sunglasses, chunky boots, a beanie and Jackie Mack’s cluster pearls. Of course, any time you leave leisurewear at home deserves to be documented and Hadid not only smiled for paparazzi, but posted a photo gallery of her outing – and cute outfit – on Instagram.
Jackie Mack’s most recent collection, which Hadid has been sporting, is made using ethically sourced and sustainable materials, including sustainable freshwater pearls which feature on earrings and necklaces that wouldn’t be amiss on jewellery-loving British soft boy, Harry Styles.
Thankfully, Hadid’s favourite new earrings are still available to shop online – but be quick, nothing she wears ever stays on the shelves for long.
