My day started this morning with a strange video. An Instagram account I followed reposted a short clip titled, “Harry Styles Does Mundane Things”. Across 40 seconds and in near silence, the singer begins to make a cup of tea (or is it coffee?). He sits down and waits for the bag to brew, before adding milk and toasting the camera. I watched it several times.

Understandably, the video which was first released by Channel 4 for Stand Up To Cancer has gone viral and if you ask us, it’s a brilliant PR move. The UK broadcast network is slated to run a slew of special programmes on October 15 for the campaign and will star an impressive lineup of celebrities.

According to Chanel 4, Styles will “share some of his most intimate moments with SU2C” so consider us very intrigued.

There will also be sketches and performances from the likes of Olivia Colman, Usain Bolt, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian (who made her SNL debut this week), Liam Payne, Rosie Jones, Mo Gilligan, James Blunt, Kate Beckinsale, Steve Coogan, Jeremy Clarkson, Desiree Burch, Natalie Imbruglia, the Jonas Brothers, Becky Hill, Big Zuu, Stephen Mangan, David Oyelowo, The Wanted, Martin Freeman and Jamie Oliver.

It’s not the first time the star has participated in the charity event. In 2014, he and his fellow One Direction membesr raised over £500,000.

We expect Styles will be tuning in from the US where he is currently undergoing his Love On Tour concerts.

Earlier this month the “Sign of the Times” artist confirmed a fan theory surrounding the real meaning behind his hit single, “Watermelon Sugar”. On stage during a performance in Nashville, he told the audience, “It’s about, uh, the sweetness of life.” Styles began singing the first few lines with the crowd before stopping and admitting, “It’s also about the female orgasm but that’s totally different, it’s not really relevant.”
