The Handmaid’s Tale swept the 2018 awards season, collecting Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards and Emmys for its 10-episode first season.

With the second season of the show based on Margaret Atwood’s dystopic 1985 novel set to premiere in April, Hulu has shared a first look to get viewers excited.

Three publicity photos that dropped overnight show how the TV series will continue to go further than the book.

Lead character Offred, played by Elisabeth Moss who won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Drama is shown covered in a dangerous amount of blood, with no indication of how it happened (above).

Another creepy image shows what looks like a funeral, with the handmaids in black and red outfits walking through a cemetery in the snow.

A third picture depicts what could possibly be the colonies, the place outside the border of Gilead where people are sent as punishment and made to work as slaves.

The Handmaid’s Tale is available to be watched on SBS On Demand. If you haven’t seen it yet, binge-watch season one before season two drops sometime in April.
