Hailey Bieber has truly been blessing us this week. First the model shared her tutorial for effortless beachy waves and now we’ve gotten the lowdown on her signature sleek bun. Speaking recently with Refinery29, Bieber revealed that she usually opts for the easy hairstyle to keep her hair out of her face when she’s out and about. “When I don’t have extensions in, I just like to keep my hair out of my face,” she explained.

The sleek bun has become a go-to look for Bieber that still looks “chic and easy”, according to the star. As she told the publication, she employs a number of hydrating, frizz-fighting products to create that neatly sleek finish to the hair. As a bonus? It looks stylish, but Bieber reveals that the products she uses mean it also acts like an intensive hair mask.

“I style my bun with a bunch of leave-in conditioners and hair treatments, because then I feel like I’m actually doing something good for my hair when it’s pulled back tight,” she said. “My hair gets greasy really fast, so I’m really only putting product from the mid-length down to the ends.”

Bieber name-checked a number of styling products, including cult hair treatment K18. “My favourite hair product right now is this product called K18,” she said, which has also won celebrity fans like Khloé Kardashian for its restorative capabilities.

“It’s so good, I use that all over my hair every time I get out of the shower,” she continued, adding, “Then, if I’ve been swimming or need a little extra detangling, I’ll use the Ouai leave-in conditioner — they actually just came out with a collaboration with Byredo, which smells unbelievable. Then, I just part my hair in the centre, and use a really loose-hold hair hairspray.”

Bieber also admitted that she began wearing the style in a bid to grow out her locks. “My hair was really long as a teenager. Then I started modelling and I wanted to be cool and edgy, so I cut it really short — it never grew long after that,” she said in the interview. “Now I’m trying to grow it out, but it’s taken a long time. Though, I did see a big difference when I stopped colouring it — I don’t dye it blonde anymore.”
