Fashion’s night of nights, the 2023 Met Gala, is ceremoniously an evening of sartorial sensationalism, with everyone in the industry either invited or dying for a ticket.
However, this year’s iteration of the annual gala has not only delivered its fair share of drama with speculation that a certain famous family is no longer invited, but it could also be likely that a few familiar faces will be absent from the carpeted Met steps come the first Monday in May.
Indeed, rumours are circulating the internet that Hailey Bieber could be skipping out on this year’s soirée, instead choosing to stay home and work on her Rhode skincare brand.
But is Bieber really bailing on the Met?
Ever since her Met Gala debut in 2015, the 26-year-old has risen up fashion’s ranks to become one of the most hotly-anticipated attendees of the evening—and one who has never RSVPed ‘No’ to the gala, consecutively appearing at the Met Gala for the past seven years straight.
However, according to Bieber’s staunch supporters—see: her adherents that chronicle every move she makes via fan accounts—the Saint Laurent muse confirmed to them directly she won’t be going.
A screenshot of an alleged conversation these accounts had with Hailey has started making the rounds on Twitter, with the model reportedly writing: “I’m not going to the Met this year 🤍 🫶🏼 gearing up for our next rhode launch so decided to sit this one out but will be back next year 🤍🤍🤍”
Hailey Bieber just confirmed that she's not attending this year's Met Gala. She said she's very busy working on the next rhode's launch. 🤍

Bieber herself hasn’t commented on the reports, and it’s not uncharacteristic for someone to keep silent about their RSVP status to the event.
However, given the recent reports that the Kardashian-Jenner family has been refused an invite, could this be another instance of the pot being unceremoniously stirred?
Bieber has teased a new Rhode product is in the works, but we’ve never heard of anyone turning down a Met Gala invite in favour of developing a new skincare product.
Irrespective of whether there’s any validity to these claims, all eyes will be on the Met Gala red carpet to see who actually will turn up.
As for who we’re hoping to see, we’re just waiting with bated breath to see Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, take her first steps on the Met in honour of her late-owner.
