Fans of Go-To Skincare, the beauty brand founded by Zoe Foster-Blake, have long been hanging out for a sunscreen launch. While the business did release the SPF15 product Zincredible a few years ago, the wait for a dedicated sun protection product has been long and filled with anticipation. Now, the wait is over.

Nifty Fifty is an SPF50 sunscreen formulated with multiple nourishing and reparative ingredients that make it comfortable to wear all day. Think Kakadu plum (a well-loved antioxidant), aloe vera for hydration and CoQ-10 to soothe skin.

Alongside these ingredients are four chemical UV filters –  Tinosorb® S, Uvinul® A Plus, Uvinul® T150, and Tinosorb® A2B. The latter is a first for an Australian brand, and all four give a lightweight finish that is non-greasy and safe for sensitive skin.

The launch of Nifty Fifty means Zincredible has now been discontinued, but Go-To is confident that fans of the product will fall in love with the high-SPF sunscreen.

When announcing her new product, Foster-Blake also took time to comment on the recent TGA code that restricts discussion around sunscreens online significantly. While she supports the protection of consumers from dangerous and dishonest reviews in the beauty and health space, she feels “the code lacks critical nuance”, especially when it comes to sunscreen.

“Broad spectrum sunscreen is the most effective tool against photoaging (wrinkling, sagging, brown spots) and skin cancer you can use,” she said in a statement on Instagram, before stressing that it’s personal reviews – not advertising – that compels people to try new products, and that sunscreen in particular is still very misunderstood, with many people believing it’s uncomfortable and greasy.

“I hope the TGA reconsiders the severe restrictions and breathtaking penalties around sunscreen testimonials and helps sunscreen manufacturers encourage Australians to wear sunscreen every day.”

Nifty Fifty SPF50 retails at $45 and is available via Go-To’s website now.
