The annual pilgrimage to Somerset’s Pilton Farm for one of music’s biggest parties wound down mere hours ago and now we can take our own field notes for the impending winter weather at Splendour in the Grass from how fashion’s finest attend a music festival in style. Forget the boho-on-acid look of Coachella, at Glastonbury, the mud, rain and chilly temps make flower crowns and fringing feel a little flimsy.
A wet and cold music festival is far better navigated via the sturdy reliability of a Hunter wellington boot (literally, everywhere), a khaki Barbour-esque jacket (Alexa Chung abides by hers, this year teaming it with a pair of black pleather pants) and a warming statement sweater (Suki Waterhouse’s version is on point). Must love: mud, endless cider, lining up for things and posing with arms akimbo.
