Would you say it’s daffodil, sunflower or best described as Mr Happy’s high-vis hue? Whichever way you look, it’s hard to see anything other than supermodel Gigi Hadid’s attempt at colour blocking in this street style snap taken outside her apartment in New York City.

But see past we did, proving it takes more than a spectacularly attention-seeking tryptic in yellow – outfitted by fellow NYC resident, designer Sally LaPointe – to divert us from the perfect pair of rimless wrap-around shades by Australian brand Le Specs.

Costing just $119, the sunglasses are part of a second avante garde collection partnership with Rihanna’s favourite designer, Adam Selman, who’s brought fresh attention via his many A-list friends to the long-established Aussie accessory brand best known for offering fashion shades at cut-down prices compared to designer labels.

It’s not the first time the elder Hadid’s been spotted in the unisex Flex style sunglasses, which shakes off the suggestion these were simply loaned for the day by the brand or a stylist. (Yes, that happens with celebrities. A lot.) Both Rihanna and Bella Hadid have been spotted in the same Blade-inspired frames recently too.

Still, as further proof Gigis a woman of stuanch loyalty when it comes to the fashion brands she fancies, it’s worth noting she’s been a multi-wearer of Ms LaPointe’s clothing too, albeit before the above yellow submarine offering, in a slightly more subtle shade of grey from the designer’s Prefall 2017 collection, shown below. Clearly, it’s a bling thing.
