Model Gigi Hadid has shown up at the 2021 Met Gala and as always, her look is a standout.
Fresh from the runways at New York Fashion Week, Hadid looks incredible in a monochrome Prada look, including a white bustier strapless gown, black jewelled tights and a pair of black leather gloves.
But it’s her hair that’s rendered us speechless. Hadid has traded her signature copper blonde for a glossy, red auburn shade. Hair stylist Esther Langham turned on the volume, pulling it back into a slick high ponytail bolstered with some extensions. Finished with a Prada barrette, Hadid has no doubt cemented red hair as one of the biggest upcoming trends — the MET Gala being the perfect place for the big reveal.
Erin Parsons did Hadid’s makeup — a powdery blue eye (reportedly mixed by Gigi herself), sharp winged liner, signature taupe lip and softly-sculpted cheeks. Parsons and Hadid regularly work together, but the pop of colour looks great against the shiny red hair and pared-back, monochrome outfit.
Unlike previous years, Hadid walked the red carpet alone, with her boyfriend Zayn Malik and sister Bella Hadid noticeably absent.
Hadid has also stepped back from the spotlight since the birth of her daughter, Khai, but in this week has walked for Tom Ford, Brandon Maxwell and Moschino among others. Tonight’s appearance on the cream carpet is truly the literal cherry on top.
