Riddle us this: if we said the words Gigi Barbie, what would first come to mind? Would it be the oldest Hadid sister turned into a doll (yes, that has happened) or the fact she seems to face the paparazzi in a different Barbie-worthy fashion look every day? (Sometimes several times a day, in truth.)

Today, it’s the latter.

Stepping out of her own Manhattan ‘Dreamhouse’ to attend the launch party of her VOGUE Eyewear collaboration, Gigi rocked a head-to-toe suit in millennial pink (is there another shade?) with ‘80s power women overtones.

The look was a standout from KREIST’s Autumn/Winter 2017 collection and was a dream blend of several key trends this season: maximalism, power ‘80s, platform shoes, pink (obvs), metallic fabric, high-waisted flares, to name but a few.

Her cropped jacket – embellished, fringed, grommeted – plays up the proportions of the structured shoulder. She stayed on theme by layering a pale, baby-pink camisole underneath. Towering, pearl-adorned, dusty pink Aquazurra Harlow embellished velvet sandals (currently retailing on matchesfashion.com for $910) rounded off the look, ensuring that the trousers’ flares kicked with, yes, flair.

And although Barbie is now commendably colour and size diverse, there’s no mistaking the doll’s vintage version, with her signature blonde locks. Gigi’s bouffant do is bigger and blonder than recent memory. With a lived-in texture that doesn’t compromise on bounce or volume, real-life Gigi outdoes her mini-me’s tresses in the glamour stakes.

All up? We’d say that the only thing missing from this look is a pink convertible and Ken.
